The Medication Aide Certification Examination (MACE) is administered to nurse aides who wish to become certified as medication aides. It is given by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) in conjunction with various testing centers throughout the country.
Test takers must complete the 100 multiple-choice questions. If a test taker fails the test, he or she may retake it only once. A minimum score of 40 out of 50 total points is required to pass the exam. The MACE is a computerized exam.
